History & Strategy
Initially, the founders of NewGen & ReFuel had anticipated a US business
plan formed on the premise that:
-
By purchasing hydrocarbon distribution in the
USA in the form of Petroleum Fuel Terminals,
-
By purchasing on the Spot Market or through
long-term supply contracts, Ethanol and Biodiesel and;
-
By blending these products with NewGen’s own
proven, proprietary technology which stabilizes the blended fuels and enhances
performance by increased mpg and reduced emissions,
The end result would be premium fuels that reduce
emissions and create the start of “Made in USA – Home Grown” biofuel markets.
After several months due diligence, it was found that original sales targets were
impossible to achieve due to a distinct lack any serious available quantities of
quality biodiesel. The US had produced only roughly 50 million gallons of biodiesel
in 2004 while the market requirement was anticipated to be 8 billion gallons per year.
The market size has been since been confirmed at that figure.
In the USA ethanol is also still in short supply with over a 5 billion gallon deficit.
But, as there are 40 plants or more in the process of construction in the US, the company
decided to either buy on the Spot Market, JV or acquire ready-built sites in the future.
Long-term, we see a solution for ethanol from cellulosic waste as the answer.
To date, the non-availability of serious amounts of quality biofuels on a sufficiently
wide spectrum has meant that the world’s dependence on fossil fuel has continued with
little or no impact being made by the Biofuel Sector.
NewGen
has developed a unique strategy to change this model:
- From the Fields to the Wheels
-
Secure Our Own Feedstocks…in the US and worldwide such as soy,
canola, rapeseed, palm, jatropha and other suitable vegetable oils by contracting supply
initially from major producers of these products. NewGen plans at a later stage to be
completely self-sufficient for its biofuel feedstock requirements through the acquisition,
cultivation and redevelopment of farms and plantations for the growing of its raw material
needs. The location of such feedstock farms and plantations will also be a
Humanitarian Project
for the Group as the prime locations for the growth of this feedstock is in the developing world.
-
Build & Produce Our Own Quality Biodiesel…NewGen has secured prime
locations in the US and worldwide for biodiesel production. In addition to being in a position
to supply it’s own plants with the required raw materials, NewGen will also trade feedstocks
to other bio-plant operators, thus generating the economies of scale which will be a necessary
prerequisite for biofuels to be a major player in the transportation and power generation
industries.
-
Operate Our Own Petroleum Infrastructure…to enable hydrocarbon
acquisition for blending with biofuels directly via our own refinery and fuel terminals,
saving money and improving quality control, for distribution to wholesale and retail gas
station networks, to deliver our own branded (ReFuel America) fuels – premium traditional
gasolines and diesels as well as biodiesel and ethanol blends.
ReFuel America is NewGen’s subsidiary whose primary function
is the acquisition, blending and distribution of traditional hydrocarbon petroleum fuels and
premium blended biofuels in the U.S.A.
To make blended biofuels, ReFuel acquires traditional hydrocarbon fuels (gasoline & diesel)
from the refineries directly via it’s own 3 pipeline-connected fuel terminals in NC, SC, GA
and distributes out to wholesale/retail customers and even to local “ReFuel” branded
company-owed gas stations … and your “Wheels”.

NewGen and ReFuel also uniquely utilizes its own proven, patented fuel technology creating a
competitive quality advantage that changes the property of fuels to allow more complete
combustion. ReFuel’s products include proprietary and complex technology that improves the
performance of gasoline and diesel fuels, as well as today’s environmentally friendly alternative
fuel blends with Ethanol and Biodiesel.
Benefits of ReFuel’s premium products may include improved fuel economy in terms of miles per
gallon, increased power and torque and decreased production of harmful emissions like carbon
monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxides, particulates and black smoke.
ReFuel intends to utilize its technology to produce the following fuel products:
Premium Diesel
- ReFuel Diesel - conventional diesel enhanced by ReFuel's technology
Premium Gasoline
- Refuel Gasoline - conventional gasolines enhanced by ReFuel's technology
Ethanol - fuel ethanol is a clean-burning, high-octane fuel that is produced from
renewable sources. At its most basic ethanol is grain alcohol produced from crops such as corn.
- ReFuel E10 - combination of gasoline & 5-10% ethanol based on customer's fuel specifications
- ReFuel E85 - blend of 85% fuel ethanol & 15% gasoline, used by
FlexFuel Vehicles
- ReFuel E-Diesel - combination of up to 10% ethanol & conventional diesel
Biodiesel - fuel comprised of mono-alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived
from renewable vegetable oils, purified through a process called trans-etherification,
designated B100, and exceeding the requirements of US spec ASTM D6751 and European
EN specs 14214 and EN 590.
-
ReFuel B5 - blend of 5% biodiesel & 95% conventional diesel, can be used by any diesel engine
-
ReFuel B10 - blend of 10% biodiesel and 90% conventional diesel, can be used by any diesel engine
-
ReFuel B20 - blend of 20% biodiesel and 80% conventional diesel, can be used by any diesel engine
